As an Art Teacher, I'm always on the lookout for good works of art. Be it the poster at the bus stop, the banner at the roadside, the design on that paper bag or even the strategically positioned stars and crescent on our nation's flag. It had never ceased to amaze me how these artists can come up with different and creative ideas which in turn are translated into wonderful pieces of art that evoke 'wonderment'. It doesn't stop at artworks as in drawing, painting, printing and design. I consider all forms of 'visual stimulus' as a work of art. I came across this video which I guess many have seen for the umpteenth time. The hubby had been playing this song and truth be told, this is the first time I've seen the video. (Was told by the kids that it was shown many times on MTV). I was amazed at how the person who conceptualised the 'storyline' for the video had aptly and artistically turned it into this most creative piece of videography. I like how it starts off in the beginning like any other MTV videos (with beautiful 'anorexic' looking gals and 'hunky' looking guys) and slowly but surely unfolds into the kind of video which makes you wonder... "hmm...how's that done??". I especially like the idea of a 3D form almost miraculously turning into a 2D one. Amazing! Most precise and meticulous piece of work, I must say.
True, the world is full of 'fakeness' and fake people alike. Maybe, by looking through the glass, we'd see their true selves...as mobile cardboards or cutouts...
I'm looking at you through the glass,
don't know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head...
How do you feel? That is the question...
But I forget you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized and folded up like
Paper dolls and little notes, you can't expect a bit of hope
So while you're outside looking in, describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me
Cause I'm looking at you through the glass,
don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head...
How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins contaminating everything
We thought came from the heart - but never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises - null and void instead of voices
Before you tell yourself It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen
I'm looking at you through the glass,
don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head...
Cause I'm looking at you through the glass,
don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head...
And it's the stars, the stars that shine through you
And it's the stars, the stars that lie to you
I'm looking at you through the glass,
don't know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head...
Cause I'm looking at you through the glass,
don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head...
And it's the stars, the stars that shine through you
And it's the stars, the stars that lie to you
And it's the stars, the stars that shine through you
And it's the stars, the stars that lie to you
It's the stars, it's the stars, that lied
